Abbiamo realizzato la Country House "I Gelsi" ristrutturando un tipico casale marchigiano della fine del '700, cercando di mantenere le sue caratteristiche e peculiarità originali, e pensando a quello che noi avremmo voluto trovare nelle nostre trasferte di lavoro o nei giorni di vacanza: una tranquilla residenza di campagna immersa nel verde e non lontana dal mare, dai monti e da importanti centri di interesse artistico e culturale.
We've created "I Gelsi Country House" by restoring a typical end-of-XVIIIth-century Marches farmhouse, trying to preserve its original characteristics, and thinking about what we'd like to find during our travelling visits or our own holidays: a quiet country house plunged in the hills and not far from the seaside, from mountains and from important artistic and natural attracting points.
Il ristorante - The restaurant
Il ristorante, ricavato nella vecchia stalla, è caratterizzato da un grande camino, sempre acceso, dove vengono cucinate fiorentine e carni grigliate di prima qualità.
Altra specialità del locale è l'antico forno a legna, tutt'oggi utilizzato per cuocere porchette e pane fatto in casa.
Il ristorante ha una capacità di circa cinquanta coperti, e offre una cucina tradizionale ma con un pizzico di fantasia, puntando in maniera prevalente sulla genuinità e la qualità delle materie prime, che vengono selezionate in modo attento e ricercato.
La cantina, curata personalmente dal proprietario, è incentrata prevalentemente su etichette di vini locali, ma non mancano anche importanti vino tsocani e umbri, particolarmente adatti all'abbinamento con le carni.
La Country House è inoltre una delle tre Case di Fado portoghese recentemente nate in Italia, e durante tutto il periodo invernale ha ospitato i massimi esponenti di questa musica, come il maestro Marco Poeta.
The restaurant, drawn out where the old cattleshed, is characterised by a big fireplace, always lit up, where we cook grilled T-bone steaks and high quality grilled meat.
Another specialty of ours is the ancient oven, which we still use to bake home-made bread and to roast sucking pigs.
The restaurant can contain nearly 50 places, and it offers traditional cooking with a bit of fantasy, with a particular care for the genuineness and high quality of the products, carefully selected.
Our cellar, personally cared by the owner, is mostly centred on local wines, but it doesn't miss the most important wines from Tuscany and Umbria, particularly suitables to be combined with meats.
Besides, the Country House is one of the three recently Italy-born Homes of Portuguese Fado, and during the whole winter time we've hosted the main exponents of this kind of music, as Maestro Marco Poeta.
Le stanze - Rooms
Tre le camere disponibili, due delle quali matrimoniali con la possibilità di letto aggiunto,
situate al primo piano della struttura e con un bagno in comune.
La camera matrimoniale al piano terreno è attrezzata per i disabili, con bagno personale ed entrata indipendente sul giardino.
We have three rooms availables: two of them with double bed (with the possibility of adding another single bed), situated on the first floor of the house, with bathroom in common.
The double bedroom on the ground floor offers facilities for disabled people, with personal bathroom and indipendent entrance on the garden
I cavalli - Horses
Annesso alla Country House il Country Club, circolo ippico F.I.S.E., con scuderia di dieci box e maneggio, che offre la possibilità di lezioni di monta americana, e ospitalità per chi volesse fare una vacanza insieme al proprio cavallo.Il circolo ippico è anche sede dell'Associazione Team Penning Marche, sport equestre che da alcuni anni viene praticato anche in Italia a livello nazionale, e che ha origini americane, in quanto derivazione del lavoro che i cowboys dovevano svolgere nei loro ranch per isolare, vaccinare e marchiare il bestiame.
Together with the Country House, I Gelsi hosts the Country Club, F.I.S.E. horse club, with a ten-boxes stable and a riding-ground, which offers the possibility of western riding lessons, and hospitality for those people liking to go on holidays together with their own horses.
The horse club is also the head office of the Marches Team Penning Association, equestrian sport which in Italy has been practised for a few years; Team Penning has American roots, as it comes from what the cowboys had to do isolate, vaccinate and mark their cattle in ranches.

La Country House "I Gelsi" è situata in posizione strategica rispetto a centri artistici e culturali come Macerata e Recanati, ma è anche a soli 15 km dalla Riviera del Conero.
"I Gelsi" Country House is situated in a strategical position in the regards of artistical and cultural centres, like Macerata and Recanati, but it's also just 15km away from the Conero coast.
